2022 Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month Theme
Talk About It

We are thrilled to announce the 2022 Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month (TDVAM) theme: Talk About It .

Talk About It is a call to action for young people and those who support them to engage in meaningful conversations about healthy relationships and navigate what may be unhealthy or even abusive.

We want youth and the adults in their lives, influencers, to talk about their experiences in caring, supportive, and real ways. So many young people, including members of the love is respect Youth Council, say that conversations with their peers and their loved ones are essential when it comes to feeling safe and supported. Talking about healthy relationships and how to recognize warning signs isn’t just something parents and youth should be doing in the home—these conversations ought to be taking place also in classrooms, on college campuses, and anywhere young people spend their time.

Our collective and shared experiences can empower us and others when we take the time to talk. Throughout TDVAM in February 2022, we will be sharing resources, information, and tools for how to Talk About It and create spaces that are positive, nonjudgmental, and caring for all young people, including youth of color and those in the LGBTQ+ community.

Every young person has their own valuable and unique story. Youth want and deserve to be their authentic selves and have the right to information and support when it comes to dating abuse. Check back here soon to learn more about TDVAM 2022, including our upcoming Instagram Lives and webinar.
